Beyblade was one of the first few animes I watched, and it was the first anime I got hooked onto. I started watching
it when I was about 8 or 9. I remember my younger brother watching a program called 'Beyblade' which he said was excellent,
but I didn't bother with it because I thought it was just another his 'fighting' shows. Then, one day for some unknown reason,
I sat down and watched ep 11 along with him, and from then on I started watching it regularly.
I liked Beyblade, but not as much as I do now(probably because I was too young to fully appreciate it), so I didn't beg
my mom to buy the anime. Although I definetely wasn't a Kai fangirl at that time, Kai was already one of my favourite characters.
However, I didn't ask my mom to specially get Dranzer for me(something I would totally regret 2 years later-when Beyblade
was aired again and I got addicted to it, and when the Beyblade toys weren't being sold anymore).
As I said, two or three years later, in November 2004, Beyblade was aired again, and this time I became a full-fledged
Beyblade(and Kai) fanatic. Ironically, it was at that time when shops stopped selling the anime and the Beyblades, so I sadly
concluded that all I had to remember Beyblade by was memories.
...Or so I thought. At a booksale, I was idly strolling when suddenly, I nearly fainted of shock, amazement and glee-before
me were stacks and stacks of the Beyblade vcds, all going for $2. I eagerly snapped them up(there were 18/25 there) and
by some extreme stroke of luck, managed to get all but one of the others...all at clearance sales, all at $2 or less. Dranzer,
however, is a completely different story. All I have is a weird and tattered combo of Dranzer S and Dranzer V2. I'm not
complaining though...I'm so happy I even managed to find the anime in the first place.
That was all on the first series. V-force and G-revolution is a different story though. I watched a few V-Force eps,
and didn't watch any more. G-revolution is currently airing, but I have after school activities and such, so I've missed about
a quarter of the series. Although the battles in G-revolution are much more intense and exciting, I feel that both it and
V-Force will never measure up to the first series, although I really have no idea why.
